CTET Syllabus 2020 (Paper 1 & 2), Exam Pattern and Books

CBSE has released the CTET syllabus 2019, which includes subjects such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (compulsory), Language II (compulsory), Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Science, and Social Studies/ Social Sciences. There are two papers in CTET Exam Pattern 2019:

  • CTET Paper I is for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.(Primary Level)
  • CTET Paper II is for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.(junior Level)

CTET Exam Pattern

The Selection Procedure of Teachers in CTET is based on Online Written Exam which take place in 2 parts i.e Paper I & Paper II. Paper I is conducted to recruit Primary Teachers of Class I to V whereas Paper II for the recruitment of Elementary Teachers or Junior level Teachers of Class VI to VIII. The exam pattern differs for both the papers as mentioned below:

CTET Paper II Syllabus 2020 for Class VI to VIII Elimentary Stage (Junior level)

CTET Paper II exam is conducted for Elementary Stage i.e. for Class VI to Class VIII. Paper II is divided into 4 sections which are Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics & Science or Social Studies/Social Sciences. A total of 150  questions with a time duration of 2 hr 30 mins  will be asked in this Paper. Read further to know the detailed CTET Paper II syllabus.
